This greenhouse will allow the students at BPHS learning opportunities in the areas of greenhouse management, irrigation techniques, and plant propagation. Out horticulture pathway is intended to certify students as skilled and trained in the area of horticulture on completion of 4 years in the agriculture program with an emphasis in horticulture. Students can earn college credits towards a future degree, or enter into the workforce with a solid foundation in the horticulture industry.
In November of 2009 we began construction on a new Science Lab Classroom. We utilized one of the classrooms in the Agriculture building to create a state of the art science lab. Monies for this project came from the Prop 1D facilities improvement grant that we received in 2007 to create a horticulture pathway. Prior to construction, this classroom space was being used for storage. The room now has six lab stations with electrical outlets, hot and cold running water, a teaching wall with storage, new lab stools, cabinets, and an epoxy coated floor.
